
JUNIOR FENCING AT STOURBRIDGE FENCING CLUB

The information given here is as was the case prior to having to close.
At the upcoming AGM, the committee will be recommending no change to subscription fees.
The Club has a flourishing
JUNIOR SECTION,
Two separate classes for juniors:
Ages from 8 up to 13+ running from 6.45 - 7.45p.m.
Ages from 13+ currently running from 7.45p.m., concurrently with the seniors
(Venue open 6.30p.m. & 7.30p.m. respectively for prompt start)
["Rising 8's" are admitted at the discretion of the coach,
taking into account the relative maturity of the applicant]
Cost £4.50 per session
Coaches involved with the class are British Fencing registered and have all the necessary DBs checks, Safeguarding and First Aid certification in addition to coaching qualifications.
The classes will be run using both the new GO/Fence and "real" metal equipment

You are required to join the National Governing Body, British Fencing, before you start fencing. This is FREE for the first 90 days, so no additional cost is involved.

The cost of the course does not include BF membership nor does club membership.
Unlike the senior group, it is usually possible join at any time.
As long as there are places, your child may join at any time.

Although the classes only run on Thursdays at present further classes may be opened on other days, depending on demand.

Stourbridge Fencing Club has been working towards Swordmark status (see Club info page for more details). The requirements for this seems to have been largely superceded by other legal, NGB & Sport England requirements.
